Kumbhalgarh Fort, no doubt, will bowl you over with its serpentine walls and massive ‘Polls’ (gates). But what do not go unnoticed are the numerous temples you can see on the sidelines. Our guide pointed out that the Ranas (Kings of Mewar) had built more than 360 temples inside the Fort, of which only 80 of them can be seen today. Of these 80, just a handful of them are operational where pujas can be offered.
After the Fort climb, you may be tempted to skip the temple explorations. But we advise you to rest for a while at the foothill of the Fort, buy some water/juice from the store at the Fort, recoup your energy and will, and make up your mind to peek into the temples. They are beautiful.
Amazing how much you travel!!
Haha…we are bit by the bug 🙂
